Can see users comment history, but no post history. But user has post karma?

I'm looking at a user's profile and can see their comment history but there's no post history despite them having post karma. What would cause this?

I think the lack of visible post history despite post karma could be due to the user deleting their posts making them private or posting in communities that you do not have access to. Another possibility is that their posts were removed by moderators.
