  • Pretending to be victim of CSAM does not get you off the hook for crypto scams.

oddtiming So after reading this, I answered the following in my ticket: "I am more than happy to submit a separate ticket for every comment, but I feel like we'd like each other a lot less by the time I'm done."

I understand that this is probably the first time you were told that you can't have something in your life. My kid also does that - "Maybe it will work tomorrow? Or maybe if dad's in a happy mood? Or maybe if I nag really hard?"

Since I hope you have better reasoning capabilities that a small kid, I will make a multiple choice answer for you:

You are told that on the balance of probabilities the reason you were replying to a crypto advertisement is because you got a material advantage in return. The mature reply is:
  • Call them stupid and their opinion irrelevant. Then ask them again.
  • Write a paragraph on how special you are and how rules do not apply to you.
  • Show them how stupid they are by saying that you will abuse the framework given to get the cake.
  • Understand their point, even if you do not agree. Then work within the framework provided, if any, to get at least a slice of the cake, even if you probably are not going to get the whole thing.

      Why be unbelievably condescending like this? The ticket responses I received were really rude for no reason also. We’re all dealing with this issue and it’s not unreasonable to call out this policy as being problematic. My first ticket was denied and admin stated:

      “you used this account(s) to promote one or more cryptocurrencies”

      No, actually, I didn’t. But ok. No option to reply, and since people IRL are using pullpush to directly target me, I opened another ticket to try and explain or get more info.

      Admin: “ Opening new tickets constantly will lead to permanent ban.”

      What other option did I have? At least the second response gave me this forum so I could better understand this bizarre policy.

      Being nice is literally the bare minimum in life and I can’t understand why you or others are being incredibly shitty towards people over this policy. Was an admin personally victimized by a crypto scam or something?

      In the meantime I’ll continue to deal with bullying and harassment both IRL, because of pullpush, and now on this site too. Ironic honestly

        pullpush-actual I was told if I constantly submit tickets I’ll be banned. If I submit a 3rd ticket, this time for a limited removal request as you suggested, will that be perceived as abusing the system and get me banned?

            If you do fall under this policy your better bet will be to submit a limited request for removal of a single topic or comment (unless that topic or comment is about crypto)

            Or at least that applies to anyone reading it (with a reasonable guideline to limit it to around a dozen most-privacy impacting comments/topics). As to both both of you, you are banned. I can't fathom why you would think starting shit on a post meant to explain and guide you into making a correct request was a good idea, but 🤷

              Since you keep on writing indignant essays on how you are not a crypto scammer, I feel like I owe you an explanation of how you got yourself in that pickle.

              Your brain simply cannot process no for an answer. You read "If you do fall under this policy your better bet will be to submit a limited request for removal of a single topic or comment (unless that topic or comment is about crypto)", but the singular form of "single topic or comment" did not fit what you wanted (in your 2000 word essay you even ask yourself what does this mean as if the sentence wasn't in English) so your head warped it into "submit a separate ticket for every comment" to make it more palatable to your agenda.

              I'm sorry to say but you are not the main character and you cannot have a pony. If it is any consolation, neither my employees or myself called you a crypto scammer. This is another thing that your brain latched onto simply because I wrote down this policy using that person as an example. This broad policy is the only thing that a non-crypto-familiar employee that needs to do 15 tickets in an hour can do.

              Oh, and if you really talked with a crypto ad on reddit, without getting paid for it, you should have asked them in dms for free swag at least. Just a life-pro-tip.

              fadfog797 I agree. I myself have said nothing but negative and oppositional things about crypto. I have most certainly not commented upon or been connected to any crypto scams. @pullpush-actual your policy is completely ridiculous and ineffective at dealing with the issue of crypto scammers. I question why you've even taken it upon yourselves to "provide transparency towards crypto-marketing". It's not like you're doing a particularly good job of it. At the very least, do a better job at detecting whether someone is a crypto-marketer because just one mere mention of crypto being enough to declare an account "a crypto-marker" is complete nonsense. You are most certainly not providing transparency to crypto-marketing if you're sitting around refusing to delete the data of normal people who had made the horrible mistake of talking about crypto at some point, whether negatively or positively.

              If this policy is the only thing an employee can do, then don't do it since it is obviously a horrible policy that hurts far more people who aren't crypto-scammers than actual crypto-scammers. It's not like people who do crypto-scams care about whether you can see their messages or not; especially if they're using bots. I don't see why PullPush is the place for "exposing" crypto-scammers.

                  If you are trying to make a policy suggestion, your tone isn't exactly helpful. What is it with European people? 80% of whining comes from them and not from more numerous USA requests.

                  Usually with a tone like you are owed something. I know you get money from the state if your lazy ass can't find a job, but you aren't in Kansas anymore, we owe you exactly nothing.

                      I'm neither European nor American and I don't think I'm "owed" anything. But I have penchant for telling the truth and the truth is that this is a bad policy. The truth is the truth irrespective of how it is said. Ultimately, the policy sucks and is completely unnecessary as well as fails to do its job. Similarly, it's not clear why the company has elected to make this its job. There isn't much else to be said but that and a recognition that this inability to handle critique or make good policy isn't going to bode well once you inevitably deal with the same problems Pushshift dealt with. Assuming reddit as a whole doesn't implode itself before that. As much as you might dislike or be taken aback by the tone, consider this a friendly concern.

                        Hi,

                        I think you are dealing with someone repeatedly trying to get their crypto related content removed by changing their story. Since your policy clearly states that any post about cryptocurrencies positive or negative disqualifies the content from removal simply reiterate that no further removal requests related to crypto will be entertained. It is also helpful to remind them that non crypto comments would not be removed if they provide context to crypto related discussions.

                          Yeah. The problem is communicating current policy (that they can still remove single posts that are actually problematic to their privacy) without engaging with the man-children.

                          Usual next step after you tell them the above is them spamming the ticket system with a separate request for every single comment.

                          If it was me personally doing the replies we would probably switch to "crypto post = ban and no reply" but people working the tickets have angelic patience 😃

                            CSIM? Crypto scams? I recently requested my data be deleted and was forwarded to this page. It’s a little rich to accuse anyone participating in any crypto community or leaving a single comment regarding the subject as “scammers.” This comes of extremely condescending and somewhat insulting.

                            To anyone reading this that resides or is a citizen of the EU. Don’t let this person gas light you. Your rights are protected and they are legally required to remove your information.
